Talent Profile
Ben Powers
I’m an independent producer, writer and filmmaker looking to make a move.

My most-recent project is a proof of concept for a travel series in Amsterdam, Holland, called Pocket Vacations. It’s being distributed via the major mobile platforms and provides behind the scene promotional films and interviews from over 140 locations including all major museums, venues, and points of interest as well as specially selected activities, cafes, restaurants and tourist attractions.

I bring it up because it highlights my unique skill-set; being across-the-board capable, able to pick up a project in any phase and make immediate progress through to fruition is a talent I’ve made a point to hone.

Prior to creating Pocket Vacations, I ran a small production company where I wrote and produced award-winning and successful political fundraising films and generated shorts for Jimmy Eat World, Interscope Records and Heineken International in addition to working on several low-budget features. Before that, I consulted for the United States White House Communication’s Department while working with Ziemba Waid Public Affairs in Phoenix. I also served as the Director of a 501(C)3 NPO backed by now Homeland Security Director, Janet Napolitano. Originally, I started out as a reporter for the Arizona Republic after winning the International Scholastic Press Freedom Award, an award given to college students for defending free speech rights around the world.  For more than a decade, I’ve traveled the world, producing and learning what I can from whoever’s willing to teach me.

I work well with others, always make my deadlines and have no problem taking direction, or giving it. I’m not concerned with office politics, job security, or upward mobility. I’m only interested in creating quality products and learning while focusing on maintaining success.
A writer, producer, director, editor, developer and entrepreneur all-in-one, Ben has written and directed award-winning short films, produced and deployed a $300,000+ travel venture and has consulted on multi-million dollar media outreach programs. Currently, Ben is looking for work on well--developed and engaging productions anywhere in the world.
