I recently located to Honolulu. I am currently looking for in-home freelance opportunities in the publishing field. I have 30+ years experience in art directing and designing various publications, such as: multiple life-style magazines; health and healthy living magazines; chamber of commerce magazines for NY, NJ, PA and DE; a lawyer magazine; travel guides and multiple coffee table books. I worked very closely with publishers, editors and sales associates as well as hired freelancers, communicated with printers and other vendors as well as created and balanced budgets. I do not currently have a web site but will be more than happy to send a pdf of some of my work.

I. Today Media, Inc., creative director, 7/14-6/15
   • Managed all editorial creative for multiple publications (Delaware Today, Main Line
   Today, Twin Capes, Delaware Business Times, and the Italian American Herald) as well
   as monthly supplements and special sections.
   • Designed all editorial creative monthly for Main Line Today, and several features and
   covers for Delaware Today. 
   • Redesigned editorial formats for multiple publications at various intervals. Most
   recently Delaware Today 4/15.
   • Oversaw the launch of Delaware Business Times, a bimonthly newspaper.
   • Commissioned, art directed and scheduled photographers and illustrators. 
   • Handled all budgets pertaining to the creative department.
   • Cultivated positive relationships with all in-house departments, freelancers, printers,
   talent, and vendors. 
   • Managed in-house art and production departments.

II. Main Line Today magazine, creative director, 5/00-7/14
   Developed and designed all editorial creative; commissioned, scheduled and budgeted
   all freelancers; worked closely with editors, publisher, photographers, illustrators and
   vendors; handled freelance budget.

III. Discovery Channel Travel Guides, graphic designer, 3/99-5/00 
   Designed seven travel guides for the Discovery Channel; assigned and art directed
   freelance photographers; researched, negotiated, and purchased stock photography;
   worked closely with editor/publisher and fellow designer to achieve client’s goals.

IV. Today Media, Inc., creative director, 8/89-4/99
   Managed all and designed much of editorial creative for multiple publications: Delaware
   Today, Main Line Today (a new monthly publication I launched and designed in 
   March 1996), Delaware Lawyer and Brandywine Valley, as well as multiple quarterly
   Chamber of Commerce publications. 

V. Delaware Today and Hudson Valley magazines, art director, 7/84-8/89
   Developed and designed all editorial creative; commissioned, scheduled and budgeted
   all freelancers; worked closely with editors, publisher, photographers, illustrators and
   vendors; handled freelance budget.

VI. Delaware Technical Community College, assistant art director, 2/83-7/84
   Designed posters, brochures, newsletters and promotional material for the college;
   worked closely with creative director and fellow designers to achieve client’s goals.

VII. various, graphic designer, 7/84-7/14 
   Designed multiple coffee-table books, brochures, logos, posters, invitations and
   announcements for various clients.

Education    University of Delaware, Bachelor of Science in Visual Communications 1984.
