UI/ Front End Web Developer
The User Interface/ Front- End Web Developer guides cross-functional teams through user-centered design (UCD) activities, blending business and user goals to create the ideal online experience for our clients. The User Interface/ Front- End Web Developer greatly influences the direction of a wide variety of interactive project types; such as interactive storytelling, consumer product and ecommerce experiences, web applications, and information portals. The User Interface/ Front- End Web Developer should evangelize and promote UCD methodology and best practices with the aim of evolving the User Experience practice.
-Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following research methods: ethnographic research, HCI( Human Computer Interaction),usability testing, participatory design, focus groups, surveys, expert evaluation, or web data analytics (e.g. conversion analysis).
-The ability to understand client goals/objectives and make recommendations to design/transform the web site to meet them.
-Strong oral, written, and visual communication skills; can present concisely and effectively. Ability to defend design decisions with industry and academic user research
-Excellent analytical ability, especially with regard to observation of user behavior.
-Effective problem-solving skills, specifically the ability to assess situations, evaluate options and make decisions/draw conclusions.
-The ability to think abstractly, creatively, and apply good design principles.
-Ability to think on-the-fly and innovatively use usability methods to handle situations that occur outside the normal course of design
-Must organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
-Build efficient and reusable front-end abstractions and systems
-Participate in design and code review
-Identify and communicate best practices for front-end engineering
Technical experience in the following areas:
-Proficient in Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and a photo editor
-Expert knowledge in HTML, XML, CSS, Ajax, Flash, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Wordpress
-Understanding of common web back-end tools
Knowledge Requirements (Education/Experience):
-Typically requires a MS/BS/BA in Human-Computer Interaction or related field,
-Minimum of 3 years of experience as a User Experience/Information Architect in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
