The Opportunity APCO Worldwide, a global strategic communication firm, is seeking a talented Junior Designer to join its in-house creative studio in Washington, DC. Responsibilities Working with and supporting creative directors, art directors, senior designers, and project managers, the junior designer will develop creative work — including advertising, brochures, infographics, web and mobile app comps, online and social media advertising, business development materials and PowerPoint presentations, and other creative materials. Basic Qualifications •1-3 years of relevant full-time, post-graduate design experience •Expert knowledge of Adobe CC (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects) and MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) on Mac and PC platforms; familiarity with Apple’s Keynote •A college degree in design or another design-related discipline is preferred – but a solid portfolio can speak volumes •Experience working in an agency, particularly a public affairs consultancy, is a plus Skills and Experience •Experience in print, interactive, and presentation design, with a proactive attitude to contribute to the entire creative process and a holistic understanding of design’s role in communication •Proficiency in creating multimedia content for video and web, including video editing (Adobe Premiere), motion graphics, and current front-end technologies (CSS3 and HTML5), is a huge plus •Dedication to producing high-quality work with great attention to detail, even if it requires working atypical hours •Ability to manage time efficiently, stay organized, and thrive in a very fast-paced environment •Strong written and verbal communication skills •Determination to achieve and succeed… and to have fun while doing it! **Please note that a portfolio of your best design samples is required for this application!** Founded in 1984, APCO Worldwide is an award-winning, independently owned global communication and business strategy firm with offices in major cities throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
