The Web Designer is a key participant in the planning, design and development process for UNE’s website. The position will apply an understanding of graphic design, updating websites, designing webpage layouts and writing and editing content. 
•	Develop beautiful, creative concepts and designs for primary UNE homepage, website, supporting microsites, and campaign landing pages.
•	Create innovative, on-brand digital materials, including banner ads, social media ads; email blasts, PowerPoint presentations, and other campaign collateral.
•	Use Adobe’s Creative Cloud software suite to create and modify layouts, design elements, and photos for UNE’s digital presence.
•	Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand off to backend developers.
•	Assist with presenting design concepts and direction to internal clients (colleges, schools, departments, and centers).
•	Collaborate with web team on developing, delivering and implementing digital style guides to ensure visual consistency across the university’s web properties.
•	Maintains sites appearance by establishing and enforcing design guidelines, content and display standards; editing submissions.
•	Analyze results from campaigns and understand success metrics of design and video projects to optimize future campaign performance.
•	Collaborate with designers, content and creative teams to drive up standards of digital creativity.
•	Present strategic ideas and vision to executive level and cross functional teams.
•	Serve as subject matter expert on industry best practices, technology and trends.

Bachelor’s degree in related field plus at least 5 to 7 years of experience in digital design and production or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
•	Experience translating complex ideas into easy-to-understand infographics and illustrations.
•	Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, HTML, and CSS.
•	Understanding of UI, UX, and ADA accessibility requirements.
•	Experience designing responsive, high definition websites, microsites, landing pages, and digital ads.
•	Experience with 3D graphics, animation, and/or motion graphics.
•	Strong sense of design, typography and branding
•	Proven ability to translate business requirements into a creative execution
•	Experience in an educational and/or communications environment is a plus.
•	Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, to develop appropriate priorities, and meet deadlines.
•	Ability to work in flexible environment.
•	Strong interpersonal skills; proven capacity to communicate clearly.
•	Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability to interact with diverse populations within and outside the University.
•	Preference given to applicants who have continued to upgrade their skills through continued education and training.
