Director, Marketing
Practising Law Institute
Practising Law Institute (“PLI”), is searching for an experienced marketing professional to fill the role of Director, Marketing.

The Director, Marketing will drive the development and execution of strategies that will strengthen PLI’s brand, reputation, visibility and revenue goals. The Director will oversee digital and print marketing functions, as well as data-driven strategies to achieve departmental goals within budget and on schedule. In addition, the Director will be responsible for ensuring all marketing communications are aligned with organizational strategies, and maintain the appropriate message, tone and voice of PLI.

Reporting to the VP, Marketing & Communications, the Director will ensure all marketing efforts are achieved within budget and on schedule. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

•	Partner closely with Membership Services department, which is responsible for membership and revenue growth
•	Develop and manage marketing strategies which will support the achievement of sales goals and Membership engagement
•	Strive to understand key segments and PLI customer/user needs to inform effective marketing campaigns
•	Manage direct mail, email marketing, video marketing and digital direct response campaigns across PLI’s products and services
•	Create and execute lead generation activities and campaigns
•	Participate in department budgeting process
•	Proactively reach out to internal stakeholders to leverage program content and new product opportunities
•	Regularly assess marketing management staff, providing training and mentoring 
•	Continuously evaluate processes and strive to create efficiencies
•	The Director is expected to keep current with marketing technologies and trends as well as trends in learning and education, with a focus on the continuing legal education industry.
•	Closely track the marketing efforts and product launches/initiatives of other organizations in the industry
•	Other duties, as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 
•	Manage the day-to-day activities of a small marketing team
•	Complete marketing team operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results and deadlines
•	Review marketing plans and strategy documents for marketing activities to ensure business goal and budget alignment
•	Direct the  work of PLI’s Marketing Managers and Communications Manager to ensure effective promotion of  the organization, including PLI’s brand, staff, mission, products, awards and achievements

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
 
•	Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related experience
•	7-10 years of strong marketing leadership experience
