Site Merchandising Assistant Manager - Cards & Stationery

The Site Merchandising Assistant Manager is responsible for C&S new product setup and ongoing visual merchandising on the Shutterfly App in order to deliver a visually appealing and effective customer experience. In addition, this role will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of the visual merchandising strategy of the Cards & Stationery categories of products on desktop & mobile web. In conjunction with the rest of the site merchandising team, they are expected to maintain regular App & Web reporting and suggest ideas for visual merchandising tests or optimizations to increase conversion and AOS.

This position will report to the Sr. Manager, Site Merchandising (C&S) and work closely with Mobile Product Management, GM and Marketing teams, as well as cross functionally with the Content and Merchandising teams. The person in this role must be detail oriented, organized and have the ability to juggle multiple tasks under aggressive timelines. A “can-do” attitude with full accountability and a strong sense of design is a must for this position.


Responsibilities include:

    Execute visual merchandising in accordance with quarterly strategy and plans for page/product cadence for all Shutterfly and Tiny Prints Card products on desktop, mobile web, and app using key triggers such as business drive times, seasonality, and product/design launches. Meet weekly/bi-weekly with Merchandising partners to align on VM and product strategies. Communicate and drive troubleshooting with engineering for visual merchandising tool.
    Use metrics to evaluate visual merchandising changes and deliver monthly/quarterly reports to communicate results internally as well as to business partners.
    Coordinate, request and manage site updates for Card subcategory pages, aligning to planned quarterly drive times.
    Set up new Card occasions in the Mobile App. Work with Mobile Engineering, Product Management, and Merchandising teams to plan, setup, QA, and launch new products in App. Ensure launches are on time and deliver a high-quality customer experience.
    Track and communicate findings from Card customer site reviews. Share out cross functionally each month.
    Actively participate in QA of the Cards & Stationery category for every site release.

Skills & Expertise

    1-3 years’ experience or exposure to online merchandising, online marketing and/or direct marketing
    Comfort with basic web tools and technologies used for website management. Experience with a content management tool or CMS a plus
    Strong project management, communication and interpersonal skills
    Proven ability to meet deadlines with exceptional attention to detail
    Highly developed PC skills and proficiency with Excel
    Exposure to Google Analytics and/or Omniture; demonstrated analytical skills
    Strong design sensibility and interest in cards and stationery
    Ability to succeed in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
