AV Department Manager
PETA Foundation
Position Objective:
To provide administrative oversight of the Audio/Visual (A/V) Department.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Manage A/V Department staff members, including:
	o Recruitment, training, and mentoring of staff members
	o Review timecards
	o Evaluate time-off requests
	o Oversee staff evaluations
	o Strategize performance goals
	o Address employee issues, concerns, conflicts 
• Oversee daily administrative operations of the A/V Department, including but not limited to:
	o Manage staff scheduling
	o Maintain department calendar
	o Ensure that equipment is properly conserved
	o Monitor uses of department server and equipment
	o Oversee weekly department meetings
	o Approve expense reports and check requests
	o Review and make adjustments to operating budget
• Evaluate and make updates to the department's standard operating procedures to ensure efficiency and technical accuracy
• Collaborate with PETA’s Information Technology Department to ensure that internal server and paid platforms are used effectively
• Work with A/V Project Manager, Managing Editor, and Archives Manager to ensure optimal department operation
• Maintain records of equipment, software, and warranties
• Serve as point of contact for department requests for new equipment 
• Build and maintain relationships with third party vendors
• Keep on top of audio/visual equipment, software, and hardware trends
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
 
Qualifications:
• Minimum of four years of management experience, including hiring and staff development
• Minimum of four years in a production office environment
• Strong working knowledge of A/V equipment and software 
• Experience developing and administering departmental procedures
• Proven ability to use discretion when working with confidential material
• Proven strong leadership skills and long-term vision
• Proven exceptional analytical, organizational, and research skills
• Proven ability to deal professionally with staff members and the public
• Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines in a professional manner
• Commitment to the objectives of the organization
