Graphic & Web Designer
Nixon Peabody
Nixon Peabody is looking for a dynamic and creative contract Graphic and Web Designer to support our Communications team on a long-term temporary basis.

The Graphic and Web Designer is responsible for developing business/legal graphics and presentation design services; also designs and produces ads, print and electronic collateral and communications within the firm’s branding guidelines.

This is a full-time, temporary position. Please submit portfolio samples with your application, ideally including a sample PowerPoint presentation, email design, web graphics, and print design work.

Location: Rochester, NY or Boston, MA


•Design and prepare visual aids, including maps, charts, diagrams, litigation exhibits, electronic presentations, timelines, etc.
•Design eye-catching event invitations, e-vites, posters, newsletters, alert mastheads, and other materials within the firm’s brand guidelines.
•Lay out campaign and community ads within the brand template as needed.
•Select photos for brochures and lay out in established brand template.
•Manage production projects by working with printers to get competitive price quotes, approve proofs, select materials, and ensure satisfaction of end-client.
•Participate in the production of multi-media presentations for large scale meetings.
•Help design and produce images needed for the website including selecting and purchasing third party images.
•Independently ensure all firm materials conform to the established brand, and re-direct projects that have a non-conforming look or message.
•Administrative responsibilities: maintain files, input time sheets, document job statistics, and prepare invoices that are incurred from ordering supplies or dealing with vendors.

Job Requirements: 

•Bachelor’s degree.
•Minimum 3-5 years related work experience. Experience in legal or professional services environment is highly desired.  
•Proficient on PC in design programs: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and MS Office. Expertise with PowerPoint required. 
•Working knowledge of pre-press production, offset printing and electronic distribution.
•Strong typography skills and understanding.
•Proven ability to prioritize and manage projects, meet tight deadlines and work productively in a fast-paced environment. Sustains a high level of productivity and contributes whatever it takes to get the job done.
•Sets high performance standards for self and works well independently and as part of a team.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Good listener.
•Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment.
•Speaks with knowledge and credibility to gain attorney and staff confidence. Has a strong client-service work ethic.
•Works effectively to accomplish solid business results and organizational goals.
•Aptitude for expanding technical skills through training.
