EXPERIENCE:

LABROOTS (2014 - current)
DIRECTOR, CREATIVE SERVICES

As Creative Services Lead, I lead the vision, execution and tone of creative corporate communications materials and experiences. I guide the creative process, manage team staff individually and as a whole, and provide inspiration, empowerment, and leadership to each team member. I am responsible for the development of virtual event strategies, manage internal client relationships, and oversee the quality of the creative work generated in-house or through external resources. I have extensive experience creating and managing communications across multiple interactive and visual mediums, including print, digital, video, social, email, e-commerce/store and marketing channels.

BAJA RANCHO ART (2013 - current)
CO-FOUNDER, CREATIVE DIRECTOR

Baja Rancho Art was created to offer instructor-led and open studio workshops in painting, drawing, ceramics and photography at Rancho La Bellota in beautiful Valle Guadalupe, Baja’s wine country. Valle Guadalupe’s rustic setting and magical atmosphere is approximately 25 minutes from Rancho La Bellota, a 2,800 acre Mexican UMA certified ranch that sits in an oak lined valley just north of Baja’s scenic “Ruta del Vino” between Tecate and Ensenada, approximately 1½ hours south of the border. Proximity to local indigenous culture and nature retreats offer weekends filled with endless inspiration to beginning and advanced artists.

The Baja Rancho Art team works with beginning and experienced artists working in the medium of their choice. Core responsibilities as Creative/Communications Manager include trade show assets, advertising, workshops logistics, website development, CMS management, and design for all marketing collateral. Social media management includes Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and periodic email newsletters through MailChimp.

SEQUENOM, INC. (2012 - current)
GRAPHIC DESIGNER, DX MARKETING

Responsible for ensuring MarComm processes are efficient in terms of resources needed and are effective in terms of meeting requirements and time lines. Control representation of domestic and international Sequenom's Laboratories and Bioscience brands by implementing current brand redesign, creating, editing and reviewing marketing template materials and corporate collateral. Produce, maintain, and distribute corporate system logos, graphic standards, and organization-wide style guide used to drive and enhance both internal and external communications.

I have applied my experience in creative direction and design management to the rapidly growing prenatal MaterniT21 PLUS and the ophthalmic RetnaGene AMD product lines to help achieve greater industry recognition and company growth. For each, I helped manage the design of branded campaigns for extensive marketing initiatives in the areas of traditional print materials, online media and multi-channel advertisements. Working closely with key vendors on development of an on-line, on-demand storefront for marketing collateral, I have helped implement successful domestic and international product fulfillment.

FATHER JOE’S VILLAGES (2007 – 2008) LEAD GRAPHIC DESIGNER

As Capital Improvements Campaign Lead Graphic Designer and Communications Department Supervisor, I helped plan and coordinate with Public Relations, Marketing and Special Events departments to help develop, complement and enhance all high level fund raising campaigns for various media and collateral materials. I also refined the existing brand identity architecture to help apply a consistent brand strategy. This approach helped to uniquely define the seven supporting villages that existed within the family of Father Joe’s Villages. With every design, the challenge was to communicate the value of a potential donation by illustrating how a donors’ gift could help change lives and improve their community.

Projects included Thanksgiving Day 5k, World AIDS Day, Children’s Charity Gala, Red Boudreau Gala, Birdies-4-Babies Golf Tournament, Corporate Challenge Cup Golf Tournament, San Diego International Triathlon.

Provided postsecondary career oriented education for the creative arts.
