Over my 30+ years in advertising, I've worked for a lot of different shops. Some were great, some were good, and some were not.

But I learned something at every one of them.

My work has been recognized by the New York Festivals, the London International Advertising Awards, the Silver Microphones, AdWeek, and the ADDYs, to name a few. 

I've been fortunate enough to convince a large number of companies to trade their money for my words, including DISH Network, the Columbus Blue Jackets (NHL), California Casualty, Gillette, Elephant Insurance, PBR (Professional Bull Riders), Colorado Tourism Office (CTO), and Nationwide, among others.

Currently, I'm Creative Director/Partner at Lunchbucket Creative, a small boutique shop with offices in Colorado Springs and Rockville, Maryland. But since a good chunk of our work comes from freelance assignments, I'm putting my stuff up here as well. 

I love writing, beer, zombies, stand-up, cynicism, Diet Coke, loud music, TV, skiing, dogs, the colors purple, orange and black, horror, proofreaders, the Cleveland Browns, THE Ohio State University, my friends and family, and smart advertising. I hate pretty much everything else.

Started with an ex-partner from Vladimir Jones (formerly PRACO). Known for hard-hitting creative from hard-working creatives.


Freelance – Copywriter • 2008 – PRESENT 
Accounts: The Atkins Group, TKA Advertising, HuebnerPeterson, Internet Honey, Graham Advertising, Windstar Productions, Sandia, Jayco, Triple Crown Casinos, Experience Colorado Springs (CVB), Colorado College Tiger Hockey, Current, City of Cripple Creek, Northwest Toyota Dealers, and, with any luck, yours.


Praco – Sr. Copywriter • 2001 – 2008 
Accounts: Ent Federal Credit Union, The Broadmoor, Experience Colorado Springs (CVB), Xcel Energy, Sandia Resort & Casino, Palm Beach Princess Casino, Win River Resort & Casino, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Seven Falls. Colorado Springs’ largest ad agency, with over $53 million in billings at the time. Was downsized the week after my wife was promoted at her job, which is why I decided to give freelance a shot.


Zero Base Advertising – Sr. Copywriter • 1999 – 2001 
Accounts: Columbus Blue Jackets (NHL), OhioHealth, Columbus Area Humane Society, Cranel. Also a ton of online companies, all of which are now out of business. So is the agency, which is how I ended up in Colorado.


Lord, Sullivan & Yoder – Sr. Copywriter • 1998 – 1999 
Accounts: Columbia Gas, POV Partners, Time Warner Communications, Square D, Mettler Toledo, Columbus CVB, Papa John’s Pizza. Only spent a year here, but had a blast. Left to work on Columbus’ new NHL expansion team.


HMS Partners – Copywriter • 1996 – 1998 
Accounts: The Huntington, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Nationwide Insurance, American Electric Power (AEP). By far the biggest place I’ve worked. And the only one I regretted leaving. 


Badertscher Communications – Copywriter • 1993 – 1996 
Accounts: Buckeye Power/OREC, AmeriCom Bank, TODCO, HealthFirst. One of BtoB Magazine’s Top 75 Agencies, and my very first job, deep in the heart of Marion, Ohio.
