I have over twenty years’ experience as a skilled designer who loves telling visual and conceptual stories that break the boundaries of the status quo.  

Within my past and current positions of Freelance designer, Art Director and Senior Designer; I am responsible for developing the concept, typography design, photography and illustrations to create conceptual designs from initial sketch to printed piece. I manage timelines, the printing process, design staff as well as organize freelance and contract designers

A few highlights from my portfolio:
• Designed the look for the Tyra Banks non-profit Flawsome, including the logo design,
   save the date, invite, menus, posters, and signage. 

• Winning design of the Smithsonian Museum of African American History and Culture 
   RFP; competition for the opening ceremony collateral and invitation 

• Martha Stewart Weddings featured one of my laser cut, save the date, designs 

•  Washington Examiner cover design nominated and recognized as one of the best 
   covers of the year by ASME. 

•  Worked in the high-octane political campaign direct mail atmosphere.

• Creating branding for the 2017 Fall Meeting (with approximately 25,000 attendees, AGU’s Fall Meeting is the largest Earth and space science meeting in the world)

MediaDc  Senior Designer  2013 – 2015
• Complete redesign of daily tabloid into a glossy weekly magazine covering national political news
• Direct creative aspects of cutting-edge weekly news magazine
• Design cover, feature layout and departmental pages of the 40-page magazine with a 45,000 circulation
• Photo-edit images and work with reporters and copy editors on word count/copy fitting
• Coordinate printing schedule and process with an extremely tight timeline, typically a 2-day turn around 
• Design E-book covers from concept to finished design
• Develop and create files for iPad and web version of magazine

• Head creative designer for Tyra Banks’ non-profit Flawsome
• Created logo and visual theme for the opening gala, which raised $1.5 million
• Designed save the date, invitation, menu, posters, signage, and all printed material for opening Flawsome gala 
• Created invitations, print collateral and online marketing materials for various other non-profits 
• Organized and gathered printing quotes and oversaw printing process from file hand off to client delivery

• Supervised two full-time staff and two contract employees in the delivery of top quality graphic design services
• Oversaw and managed high-end identity package design, special event invitations and collateral design for varied clientele, including fashion houses, entertainment personalities, PR firms, non-profits, and entrepreneurs both locally and nationally
• Managed printing prepress, including letterpress, engraving, foil stamping, unique die cuts and laser cutouts 
• Updated, managed and maintained portfolio on company website of more than 500 clients 
• Developed quality process for client acquisition and retention through pitch design meetings, consistent client services, opportunities for feedback, and top quality designs

• Responsible for the design of features and multiple sections of GE Magazine
• Researched and edited photos for both GE magazine and company website

• Creative lead of two-person project team in charge of design of marketing materials, print collateral, online newsletters, web banners, website designs, and logo designs for executive teams of both corporate and non-profit companies

• Designed monthly Opera Subscribers magazine, newsletters, marketing collateral, including advertising campaigns, posters and invitations 
• Led target-marketing efforts to increase memberships
Visio/Microsoft Corporation  Graphic Designer  2002 – 2004
• Created logo and designed collateral pieces representing Microsoft’s Management Development Group, including signage, CDs, programs, booklets and trade show collateral
