Dale A Fahnstrom  
Art Director/Senior Graphic Designer
Dale received his BS in Visual Communications from Illinois State University, where he studied both photography and graphic design. He began his career as a production artist with a mid-sized advertising agency, where he quickly earned his way to graphic designer and then art director. His experiences include working for in-house marketing departments, both retail and non-profit, and now is the creative director and owner of White Feather Studios.

His 20+ years of experience in print design have allowed him many opportunities in such areas as branding, tradeshow/environmental graphics, direct mail, brochure, catalog and web design. Extensive knowledge of all creative processes, allows him to design efficiently, thereby, saving the clients time and money. His true design passion is creating brand identities and carrying them through all forms of marketing materials.

• Rebranded Heathrow Scientific’s corporate collateral materials, trade show graphics (national and international), packaging and digital media giving them a more contemporary presence.  

• Managed, motivated and mentored freelancers to rebrand and produce 12 monthly 52-page         mini-catalogs promoting scientific instruments that can be purchased through the web or through customer service.  

• Scheduled, managed and art directed photoshoots of lab supplies and equipment to showcase new and existing products.

• Developed and implemented new banner graphics and design standards to be used across all departments for promotions and advertising.

• Lead designer for the furniture division working closely with executives to promote corporate and home furniture sets, as well as individual pieces. 

• Planned, managed and art directed the 2007 Back-to-School photoshoot to promote a new line of furniture geared to ‘tweens through college students. Back-to-School furniture sales rose 20%. 

Sanford Corporation  2004-2006  
Senior Graphic Designer ­— Consumer office products corporate headquarters

• Professional, flexible Senior Designer for both the PaperMate® and Liquid Paper® brands. 

• Created and implemented a fresh, tri-lingual package design incorporating value-add icons. Managed an outside agency of freelance artists directing them in the development and creation of the value-add icons.

• Managed a team of production artists to successfully create over 400 packaging SKU’s.

• Designed and produced a leave-behind PaperMate family brochure, incorporating all current sell sheets into one brochure and dividing them into sections of value and value-add. 

• Art directed the photo shoot and worked directly with print vendors on the final printing of  the brochure.

Italia Partners  1997-2003 
Associate Art Director ­— Full-service advertising agency

• Problem solving Associate Art Director.

• Concepted, produced and implemented in-store sales promotions for Service Merchandise. Including point of purchase (POP) display graphics, ceiling banners, floor graphics, tent cards, and print ads. 

• Managed multiple retail accounts and successfully met multiple deadlines. 

• Chicago Park District Lakefront Map: Designed and produced the map with a team of production artists to achieve a strong final solution. Increasing the map’s functionality and being more user friendly.

• Managed and art directed photoshoots for multiple clients.

• Brought in a local bank group as a new client increasing Italia Partners company net worth by $200,000. Designed and produced a brand identity for a new financial institution branch, designed print ads and other valuable marketing materials to promote this and other related branches.
