PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
College of Letters & Science, UC Berkeley
College Adviser (1/2014-current)

•  Undergraduate academic adviser for over 80 majors within the liberal arts college. Advises students through all phases of their college career, including new student orientations, program planning, major declaration, and degree checks. Guides students  	    towards interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary academic opportunities.

•  Counsels and refers students to various campus resources, such as career counseling, mental/physical health referrals, study abroad, and educational research opportunities. Responsible for guiding students within the College’s academic policies. Collaborates with campus partners, including undergraduate major advisers.

•  Academic Difficulty Committee member. Additional experience working with students on academic probation and those that have been dismissed from the University. Demonstrated ability to guide students towards successful readmission.

 •  Chair for College Adviser Hiring Committee. Coordinated the position announcement with L&S Senior Staff and UCB Human Resources. Leader for interview process and for final candidates’ hiring recommendations. 

•  Active leader with the Publicity and Outreach Committee. Well-versed with social media (Facebook, Twitter), student outreach, and marketing strategies. Coordinates the content, design, and publication of print and digital communications.  
 
History of Art Department, UC Berkeley
Undergraduate Adviser (8/2011-1/2014)

•  Primary point of contact for approximately 150 undergraduates, advised students in conjunction with faculty advisers. Responsible for communicating major/minor and college curriculum requirements to students. Collaborated with faculty and the College of Letters and Science advisers to review complex student advising issues.

•  Major completion evaluator, ensuring the degree candidates have completed the major curriculum requirements. Main point of contact for domestic and international transfer students, responsible for planning and facilitating new student events.

•  Created a weekly announcement student e-newsletter which circulated internship and job opportunities, university/department events, study abroad programs, research apprenticeships, and Career Center announcements. 

•  Event planner for spring commencement. Managed all aspects of event details including postcard/website design and email announcements, staff and faculty coordination, speaker logistics, catering, and budget management.

Fellowships Coordinator, 3/08 - 5/08 (temporary), 7/09-8/11 (permanent)

•  Manager for 11 student and faculty fellowships and grants programs. Responsible for coordinating the details of the annual grants cycle and database. Collaborated with colleagues and faculty committees to grant awards with competing deadlines.
 
•  Advised student and faculty applicants through the fellowships/grants application and awards process. Responsible for editing the calls for applications, university and department outreach, website announcements, and award letters.

Communications, Public Affairs, and Development Assistant (10/2006 - 11/2007)

• One of two main contacts for donor-related activities of the foundation. Responsible for over $30 million dollars of gifts processing for the foundation endowment and donor-advised grants programs. 

• Event planner for all donor and investment events. Designed marketing materials and invitations, coordinated catering, and developed an online feedback survey.

•  Associate member of the public relations and marketing team, responsible for writing and editing press releases, researching and designing ads, coordinating photo shoots, and contributing to the annual report design and coordination committee. • Leader for marketing proposal writing and production efforts for large-scale architecture and design projects. Executed complex proposals for government contracts.
