Kent Flora has an extraordinary fascination with light and a gifted ability to capture spirited, highly expressive images that illuminate our world. His impressive catalogue encompasses an extensive variety of subjects and styles, illustrating his skill and technical ability. Flora’s expertise and passion are evident in the strength of his images in black and white–often using alternative processes, experimental toners, or exaggerated hand-tinting to enhance the quality of his unique perception.

The reoccurring thematic focus of Flora’s work juxtaposes a contemporary view and medium with powerful, timeless images of ancient civilizations, architecture, foreign cultures, the human form, botanicals and dramatic landscapes–images that evoke your response to his keen vision. 

An accomplished photographer for more than forty years, Flora’s work has been published and honored multiple times in area art shows, philanthropic benefits, and private collections throughout the country. A distinctive collection of his work has exhibited in the Annual Art Market held at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities.  

Two particularly inspiring images were selected for acquisition by the notable Art in Public Places Program, in the State of Colorado. The executive art administrator of this program regards these images as “a beautiful and significant addition to the State Art Collection,” and states that they will be installed for display in the State Services Building in Denver, Colorado, adjacent to the State Capital. 

He was honored with a comprehensive one-man show of his work at the historic Red Bricks Arts Center in beautiful Aspen, Colorado.

A graduate of Purdue University, Flora is Creative Director/Principal of Knockout Creative, a full-service professional advertising, graphic design and marketing communications service.
