Content Specialist
Well-Ahead Louisiana
This position is responsible for mass-reach health communications interventions specific to content development and owned media for Well-Ahead Louisiana.  It is located within the Division of Health Communications and Community Engagement, in the Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention and Healthcare Access.  

70% Well-Ahead Louisiana and Quit With Us, Louisiana Content Development (28 hours per week)

• Develops an effective content marketing strategy for Well-Ahead Louisiana and Quit With Us, Louisiana.  Identifies content gaps.  Writes concise, catchy headlines and titles that emphasize content’s most unique details
• Coordinates with program managers to develop the Well-Ahead and Quit With Us editorial calendars. Coordinates editorial calendars with national observances.     
• Creates copy for print promotional materials – brochures, direct mailers, pushcards, etc.  
• Creates online content for,, email marketing, blogs, and more.  

20% Well-Ahead Louisiana and Quit With Us, Louisiana Brand Management (8 hours per week)

• Ensures that all content is on-brand in terms of style and tone of voice.  Ensures content is culturally relevant and speaks appropriately to various audiences.  
• Assists in preparing talking points and scripts for videos, presentations, and media interviews.  
• Assists with the management of the Well-Ahead Louisiana Eventbrite account. 
• Assists in maintaining the Playbook. Ensures content related to Well-Ahead’s brand strategy and all talking points in Playbook are up-to-date at all times.  

5% Well-Ahead Louisiana and Quit With Us, Louisiana Social Media Management (2 hours per week)

• Leads the development of monthly content calendars for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.  Reviews and edits content calendars.  Shares content calendars with all staff members and partners.  
• Manages contract with social media vendors. Determines how to spend social media budget. Monitors and tracks social media invoices. As needed, writes scope documents for new contracts.

5% Other duties as assigned (2 hours per week)

• Works with Division of Health Communications and Community Engagement staff members to ensure timely implementation and reporting of communications grant deliverables. 
• Continually provides all staff with content development professional development.      
• Works with partners, staff, or individually, to write partial or full grant proposals to support the mission of Well-Ahead Louisiana. 

• BA in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, English, Public Relations, or a related field 
• Must have experience in content strategy, content development, and distribution 
• Must have exceptional creative writing and editing skills  
• Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite 
• 1 to 2 years’ experience in a similar position  
• Some travel required
