Senior Visual Designer
YLabs is seeking a Senior Visual Designer to join our growing design team. You will work on a variety of projects to help design creative, impactful solutions to improve young people’s health and economic opportunity globally. You will combine digital and physical experiences with the end user in mind, and work on branding and communication tools. You will work through all phases of a project, from translating verbal ideas into rough visual concepts to creating production-ready artwork, to create prototypes of different levels of fidelity to help teams determine design directions.

You have:
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant design discipline (communications design, visual design, graphic design), including 3+ years experience designing visual/digital experiences
- Experience in leading the visual design direction of projects through exploration, strategy, graphic design, and storytelling
- Expert understanding of the formal elements of design, including typography, layout, balance, and proportion
- Demonstrated experience working with a design system; its curation, maintenance, and dissemination
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- A command of Adobe CC Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Sketch, and other industry-standard creative tools

- Expertise in the following discipline(s): illustration, print, and motion
- Experience in human-centered design / design thinking
- Previous experience working on health, education or employment programs
- Worked or lived in Sub-Saharan Africa or Asia

This role is based in Berkeley, CA. Applicants must be legally able to work and live in the US.
