Senior Industrial Designer
The Senior Industrial Designer will be responsible for engineering the range of APPARATUS’ products – including lighting, furniture, objects, fixtures and special projects. This individual must have master-level skills in SolidWorks, and an extensive (10+ years) background including specific experience in lighting design. Candidate must enjoy working in a collaborative environment, be a solutions-based thinker, be flexible and achieve results.


•	Implement the vision of the Creative Director through a broad range of responsibility which can include but is not limited to 2D ideation sketching, 3D modeling (SolidWorks), rendering, shop drawing generation, shop drawing review and prototype review
•	Develop lighting projects from design concept to production-ready drawings, while meeting strict UL and CE standards
•	Develop furniture and objects collections from design concept to production-ready drawings 
•	Support the Interior Design team with renovations, installations and photoshoots by designing display cases, signage, plinths and other specific items needed for ongoing projects and annual events
•	Create technical drawings that are clear to globally-based vendors and internal production team
•	Maintain accurate live models
•	Collaborate with design team and leadership on design process and projects
•	Work with product development and production to ensure well-planned naming conventions, information accuracy, organizational processes and information handoff and maintenance
•	Hands-on assistance with showroom installations and trade events
•	Act as a technical consultant for the production and sales teams when needed
•	Maintain and foster positive and productive work relationships with those inside and outside the organization


•	10+ years of direct work experience in lighting design and manufacturing
•	Furniture design and engineering experience helpful 
•	Master-level SolidWorks skills 
•	AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, Fusion 360, Adobe Suite all helpful
•	A developed sense of aesthetic and care for details
•	Up-to-date knowledge of lighting and manufacturing technologies
•	Background in facilitating the creation of wiring schematics and voltage calculations for powering LED lighting
•	Experience solving complex problems through design
•	Experience with high-end product and materials
•	Significant experience in interaction with fabricators, vendors, consultants and UL
•	Wide knowledge of materials and techniques (woodworking, metal machining, welding, plastics…etc.) 
•	Excellent work ethic with high level of output and ability to self-motivate and manage priorities
•	Team player who enjoys the creative development process and is flexible working on multiple projects simultaneously
•	Enjoys working collaboratively, can both lead and take direction
•	Ability to maintain consistent effectiveness in time management, communicate about resources and capabilities, meet deadlines
