Marketing Coordinator

Help support the University's creative department’s team of designers, content producers, photographers, and printing staff by making assignments, locating and collaborating with outside human and other resources, and providing the administrative organization to keep the office’s activities on schedule and accounted for. The coordinator represents the department in meetings and is the primary backup for the director for critical functions such as customer communications and overseeing the assignment of creative and marketing projects aligned with MTSU outreach strategies and campaigns. The coordinator must establish and maintain lasting relationships with clients, other staff, division-wide peers, and campus partners; and must identify which partners to collaborate with on particular projects. The coordinator helps protect the office’s income, monitors quality control, and balances competing work priorities for staff.
Other terms for a position such as this are production manager or traffic manager in a creative shop. The position manages job intake, the creation of jot tickets, assigning work to the staff, overseeing deadlines, billing, and responding to inquiries.
