About the job: The Director of Strategy is responsible for leading and executing the day-to-day strategy across a range of accounts and projects, using a variety of resources to better understand audiences and effectively make recommendations both internally and externally on specific client requests as well as wider trends. The Director of Strategy will collaborate with Big’s leadership team on the strategic direction and vision of the agency in addition to working closely with account management, creative, PR, interactive and media to execute client work. Reports to CEO. Responsibilities: Build a team with a range of sub-specialties, methodologies, and functional expertise, and to partner deeply with Big’s Data Analyst Work with multiple agency teams including creative, workflow, media, PR and account management Serve on the agency’s management team and provide strategic insight on your area of expertise and the larger operational goals of the agency Coach and mentor direct reports Create and run all major research projects, both quantitative and qualitative, for the agency Able to access research findings at speed and find new knowledge and insights Drive product strategy and/or go-to-market campaigns in a digital/interactive/mobile/web environment Lead author of creative briefs for the agency Structure and lead a winning presentation with little to no support from others Frame business problems in a surprising and fresh way Brand positioning and polarization exercises Extraction of consumer insights Education of internal teams & external clients on industry trends and what it means for them About you: 10+ years of experience working in a strategic role within an agency environment Experience in managing a team Expertise across integrated campaigns Experienced in senior level client interaction Proven track record on presenting & pitching Deep understanding of research, data and insights tools, trend watching and extracting consumer insights Expertise within the automotive vertical required Relocation to Birmingham preferred
