The Art & Art History Department at the University of Utah invites applicants for a Career-line faculty position focused on teaching undergraduate and graduate students a broad range of traditional sculptural skill sets in wood and metal. The teaching load for this position is 3/3 and includes metal sculpture, wood working, mold making, and three foundation courses per year. It will also be expected that the position assist in maintaining labs, tools, and equipment.
The Sculpture Intermedia area of the Art & Art History Department is a forward thinking, interdisciplinary, studio art program where we practice a combination of traditional sculpture processes/techniques as well as cutting-edge digital means and modes of creative research.
Therefore, we seek a passionate sculptor to educate students on specific skill sets using traditional and non-traditional methods of working with wood and metal in our four dedicated labs, utilize the machines and tools necessary for manipulating these materials, and create artworks that speak about our time.
