UX Design Lead
Advertising Specialty Institute
Responsibilities:
Set design requirements based on information from internal teams and user research.
Identify new product improvement opportunities.
Analyze how a new product satisfies market needs and consumer preferences.
Stay up to date on current industry trends and market conditions.
Coordinate with other design team members to ensure consistent and accurate communication.
Modify and revise existing designs to meet changing customer preferences.
Work closely with product engineers to suggest improvements for products and processes.
Present product design ideas to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Lead research tasks such as creation of surveys, use of analytic and feedback tools, and user and stakeholder interviews with follow-up synthesis and summaries
Create rapid prototypes to convey ideas and validate designs with users
Develop user journeys and personas where appropriate
Design delightful user experiences through wireframing and visual design

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required.
5+ years of experience in user experience design roles for technology products.
3+ years of experience in leading design teams.
Natural leadership skills to display confidence, maintain strategic vision, inspire coworkers, motivate team members, and cultivate a design thinking culture across the company.
Exceptional communication skills to effectively conduct user research, interact with stakeholders, and communicate to C-level executives.
Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate smooth collaboration with stakeholders across the organization, including product, engineering, sales, finance, editorial, market research, and customer service teams.
Prior experience establishing design processes and techniques and knowledge of industry best practices in new environments.
Possession of a large design toolbox with techniques suited for various design issues and stages of ideation, with proven knowledge on when and how to use the proper tool.
Proven experience in all phases of the design process including user research, copywriting, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing
An intuitive eye for customer needs beyond the obvious
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members
Ability to collect and interpret both qualitative and quantitative feedback
A well-rounded portfolio of client work, demonstrating a strong understanding of client objectives
Ability to effectively communicate and persuade around design concepts
Passion for design; not satisfied with the status quo and always thinking of ways to improve
Creative problem-solving skills
Dynamic, creative personality, effective at engaging and influencing a variety of audiences
Provide assistance to product engineers when needed
Recommend new tools and technologies by staying abreast of the latest trends and techniques
A deep familiarity with common design tools such as Sketch, InVisio
