Head of Creative and Digital
Global Health Strategies
The Head of Digital and Creative (HCD) is responsible for the creative conceptualization and ideation of external client projects while also growing, leading, and mentoring a best-in-class team of professionals in design, digital engagement, multimedia content, and other creative/digital tools. The HCD will provide leadership and creative vision on projects simultaneously in multiple mediums and genres, for diverse global health audiences and clients. The candidate will also support GHS in setting our own organizational brand goals, overseeing the direction of our website and other digital channels.

Responsibilities

-Lead in supporting and advising GHS project teams and clients to develop a creative and digital vision and execution plans for campaigns, events, and projects:

-Leads, hires, and mentors a team of professionals to build a world-class creative and digital practice, in the NY Headquarters and across the global GHS teams

-Work with program teams to understand clients’ goals; develop creative vision and strategy for campaigns, events, and other client deliverables, using knowledge of digital tools, design, social platforms, and other creative elements

-Infuse the organization with creative energy by leading strategic brainstorms and conducting training for specific projects, proposals, and other internal initiatives

-Oversee projects from strategic direction and reviewing concepts through to completion to ensure projects stay on track and delivers the highest quality

-Serve as the organizational expert in the digital space staying abreast of new trends and innovations

-Serve as key advisor on virtual meetings and conferences, including audience building and platform selection

-Monitor the creative/digital budgets, making sure all projects are delivered within the projected parameters

-Supports business and proposal development for GHS issue-based projects and potentially for digital owned projects once team is fully established

-Set production schedules and ensure all campaigns are delivered in a timely and high-quality manner; connect to appropriate vendors/freelancers as needed

-Responsible for GHS’ own digital content and growth of digital media platforms including the GHS website and all owned social media, especially Twitter and Instagram

Experience and skills required

-Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, graphic design, marketing, communications, or visual design

-8 to 10 years; experience; passion for social development and global health

-Agency experience and solid understanding of the commercial aspects of an agency encouraged

-Effective writing and public speaking skills, with the ability to lead and educate project and firm leadership on current and future digital and creative trends

-Ability to work across media and platforms, including video, print and digital design (including branding, layout, animation, UX/UI)
