Position Summary: The mission of the Illustration Coordinator is to generate timely, market appropriate and cost-efficient art programs for print and digital products by freelance illustrators. This position requires the commissioning and coordination of freelance illustrators and includes oversight of new art creation as well as the processing of repurposed art files. The illustration coordinator supports the efforts of Editorial, Sales and Marketing, Digital Solutions, Design and Content Solutions. Minimum Qualifications/Experience: • Formal Illustration Education and/or experience managing art programs • Prior publishing experience • Ability to work independently • Knowledge of illustration and print process from concept to final product • Strong organization and communication skills • Fluency in standard Creative Suite software, including Photoshop and Illustrator • Functional knowledge of MS Office for MAC • Flexible and creative approach to problem-solving • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Lead product team in developing creative, collaborative art programs • Monitor and maintain project schedules and budgets • Coordinate new created art and repurposed art files as assigned for timely integration into product • Maintain tracking status report for assigned illustration programs • Distribute approved art programs and assist in maintaining department archives • Implement and support Censhare asset management system Essential Skills and Experience: Illustration Coordinator • Consistently meets performance goals • Communicates effectively with project team, including A&D team, freelance vendors, and authors • Ensures consistent standards throughout art process • Has experience in managing multiple high-priority projects, including ancillary programs Education/Certification: • B.F.A.
