Description:
UC San Diego’s Temporary Employment Services department is seeking an experienced event photographer to capture a special milestone for The Kavli Institute for Brain and Mind (KIBM). On Monday, October 28, 2024, KIBM will host a large-scale symposium in celebration of its 20th anniversary at the Salk Institute, from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

We are looking for a talented photographer who can:

* Capture high-quality images of the symposium, in both indoor and outdoor settings.

* Operate a range of professional photography equipment to ensure optimal results.

* Provide your own professional camera equipment for the day of the event.

* Travel to the event venue (Salk Institute).

* While the primary focus is on photographing the event, there is the possibility that post-event editing services may be needed. This would include color correction, retouching, and enhancements using software like Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom to deliver polished, professional images.

Anticipated duration: 1-day event
Compensation: $40.13 / hour
Location: Event will take place at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, west of the main campus in La Jolla. Reserved parking will be provided.
Work schedule: Monday, October 28th 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Lunch will be provided.

Qualifications:

* Demonstrated knowledge of photographic principles and techniques.

* Ability to work independently or in a group with strong communication and collaboration skills.

* Advanced experience shooting digital still photography.

* Experience in the handling and use of SLR cameras, lenses, and tripods.

* Experience with event photography, preferably in an academic or corporate setting.
