Graphic Design Intern – Yellow Scene Magazine
Yellow Scene Magazine
Yellow Scene Magazine is celebrating 26 years in 2026 as Boulder County’s only locally owned, independent news platform, remaining true to strict journalistic standards.
Content is king—and that applies to great design too.
We offer our clients an in-house creative agency that helps them craft their messaging through compelling copywriting and agency-quality design.
We are hiring one Graphic Design Intern. The role begins unpaid but can quickly transition into contract work, depending on your skill set.
What we’re looking for
You love to brainstorm and dwell in the creative process (but not too long). Your work reflects the needs of the creative team and the goals of the client. You create eye-catching designs that accurately convey the image and message of both our advertisers and the magazine itself.
We’re looking for someone who can produce brand-conscious, marketing-focused work, along with smart illustrations and thoughtful layouts that support editorial storytelling. Pride and passion in your work are essential.
This role may include advertising design, editorial layouts, social media graphics, and illustrations. Your work will appear in a publication reaching more than 25,000 readers across Boulder County.
While helping ensure deadlines are met, you’ll understand the balance between conviction in your creative vision and the flexibility required to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Of course, you know the ins and outs of the Adobe Creative Suite and are well-versed in typography and layout.

All applications must include samples of your work. This is a remote internship.
