Talent Profile
David Burney
Senior Designer
My goal is to provide a means of communication through effective and creative design. To give a product/service/idea a voice that will be influential, recognized and remembered.

I have proven abilities in print and electronic design with an emphasis on logos and stationery, web design and interface layout, CD covers, posters, brochures, interactive PDF files, and other forms of graphic communications including brochures, packaging, point-of-sale materials and wide/large format advertising. I'm also well versed in the technical aspects of the Macintosh in regards to both hardware and software. I currently provide technical support and serve as network administrator to our small design firm. I manage software and hardware acquisitions as well as research and recommend new technologies necessary to keep our studio productive and ahead of the game.

My career objectives include (but are not limited to) creating experiences, expanding my horizons, designing great things, and making a difference.

Wenzel Design, Inc - Tulsa, OK 2003 – Present
Senior Designer
I’ve been with Liza Wenzel for 9 years. I’ve contributed to every facet of this organization, from creative to management, new business to new hires, from concept to execution. This nimble team thrives as a small studio by wearing many, many hats. Our clientele has grown over the years to include the likes of Disney and Arby’s.

Brothers & Company - Tulsa, OK 2002 – 2003
Art Director
While with Brothers & Company I was involved with a variety of creative for Remington Firearms, Pradco (Yum lures and Booyah brand development), Citgo and a variety of local Tulsa-based companies and initiatives.

WorldCom - Tulsa, OK 2000 – 2002
WorldCom provided me with valuable experiences in a corporate environment where working with teams from various departments was key to the creative solutions we provided. I was integral in getting our group involved in digital design, from intranet application design, to web sites and banner ads. This added a core value to our group that was previously outsourced.

The McIntosh Group - Fort Smith, AR 1996 – 2000
Art Director
Working as a creative at TMG proved to be profoundly insightful. In just four short years I found myself actively involved in most creative aspects of the agency. Working closely with writers on concepts, with traffic for project planning and scheduling, with account services, ie., making clients happy, and art directing our designers and production artists. My eyes had been opened to the challenges of running creative environments in the high-pressure, tight-deadline world of advertising.

Butler & Butler - Tulsa, OK May 1996 – Aug 1996
Production Artist (internship)
My first experience as a soon-to-be creative professional. This small agency gave me a taste of the hustle and bustle that is the ad world.

OSU Technical Branch - Okmulgee, OK
