I am a Chinese illustrator, printmaker, and bookmaker based in New York City. My work begins with a feeling or contradiction that resists direct explanation. Through ink drawing, print, and sequential images, I translate these experiences into forms that others can encounter. Books give that search a physical dimension. A page turn can withhold an image, connect distant moments, or make a reader pause. I choose each book’s materials and structure for the kind of attention its subject asks for. Across ink drawing, silkscreen, risograph, and hand binding, I treat image and book form as parts of the same narrative. I am interested in what happens when a visual story enters someone’s hands: its pace becomes partly theirs. My books give fleeting or difficult feelings a physical presence that can be revisited, held, and shared.
